Blog 5: Changes to my study program.

Hello everyone!

In this blog, I will write my opinion about the changes that could be made in the career of Social Work at the Universidad de Chile.

First of all, I would like to have more courses in which one communicates directly with people, since most of the courses are very theoretical, which is very important, however, practices could be integrated so that we adapt to work in the "real world" so to speak. In addition, although the subjects of the curriculum are very good and help us to integrate more knowledge, I would like them to be more focused on Social Work, since there are subjects that are a bit detached from what is career and that sometimes is demotivating when studying for these courses. Regarding the workload, I think that perhaps it is not such a heavy academic load compared to other careers, but it would be great if the evaluation dates did not clash with each other, since the academic stress of having to perform many evaluations in a short time is stressful and wears mental health in several areas, such as mood, sleep and meal times. 

Regarding the infrastructure of the faculty, it is known that in FACSO there are many changes to be made, such as the installation of casinos that cover the number of students that the faculty has, as it often happens that there is nowhere to sit to eat properly! 

In addition, it would be ideal that, taking advantage of the mechanisms that were used in the pandemic, all rooms have the necessary technological equipment to be able to record classes, so that when a student cannot attend classes for various reasons, he/she does not miss the subject. 

Finally, the teaching methods are very enjoyable, our professors are great and they care about their students' learning, however, as I mentioned at the beginning, it would be great if we had more didactic classes, in which we could have outings that are related to our career, in addition to being able to have activities with people, etc., so that we could be more motivated.
